POSITION SUMMARY:
The Payroll Supervisor will work along side the Supervisor to oversee the organizations payroll functions, ensuring that pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.
POSITION EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma,
- Four years of experience in payroll processing required with two years in a supervisory or management role preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and payroll software, strong numerical aptitude, attention to detail, and excellent time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong ability to focus on details, demonstrate accuracy, and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Bilingual: English/Spanish
JOB KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 3-4 years in a lead role in a payroll department.
- Minimum of 6+ years of experience as it pertains to payroll processing, garnishments & general deductions, and W-2 maintenance.
- Strong working knowledge of personal computers and payroll database systems.
- Working knowledge of handling routine payroll tasks and effectively communicating the results.
- Knowledge of time clock systems.
- Knowledge of state laws concerning payroll, overtime, and the like.
- Proficient with payroll software.
Responsibilities:
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Will assist Supervisor with completion of payroll staff performance evaluations.
- Assist in the overseeing of procedures, processes, manages inquiries and requests related to preparation and distribution of payroll.
- Processes payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
- Assists in the processing accurate and timely payroll updates including new hires, status changes, and terminations.
- Assist in maintaining the preservation of employee records.
- Assists Supervisor in compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
- Assists Supervisor with identifying and recommends updates to payroll software, systems, and procedures.
- Helps review to ensure New Hire information is processed correctly in Timekeeping systems.
- Assists in the auditing of timecards to ensure timecard editors are properly updating timecards.
- Assist in reviewing direct deposit bank information is updated correctly when necessary.
- Verifies accuracy of information, checking for possible FLSA violations.
- Assist Directors and Vice Presidents with payroll information and reports
- Assist Supervisor in processing data changes.
- Payroll Processing: Assist in collecting and reviewing employee information and working hours, calculating wages, and preparing employee payments
- Data Management: Enter payroll data into databases and software, maintain accurate payroll records, and prepare income statements
- Employee Support: Respond to payroll related inquiries and resolve concerns, ensuring employees receive timely assistance regarding their pay and benefits.

Employees must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in his/her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirement relative to his or her age.

B. Working Conditions: The individual spends over 95% of his/her time in an air-conditioned environment with varying exposures to noise. There is protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. The position does have low exposure to malodorous, infectious body fluids from patients and some minimal exposure to noxious smells from cleansing agents.
C. Occupational Exposure: This position has minimal to no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues and is an OSHA Category III (although situations can be imagined or hypothesized under which anyone, anywhere, might encounter potential exposure to body fluids). Person who performs these duties are not called upon as part of their employment to perform or assist in emergency medical care or first aid or to be potentially exposed in some other way.
