Payroll Clerk - Associate

Under direct supervision, responsible for data input and processing of payroll information and records into payroll system. Assists and supports all aspects of departmental operations and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Answers high volume of telephone inquiries from employees, departments and vendors; routes other calls accordingly.
- Completes data entry from payroll forms, time sheets, production records, or individual time cards to computerized payroll system.
- Ensures accuracy of entries including employee name, days worked, overtime earnings if any, date, gross pay, deductions, required withholding's and net earnings.
- Computes withholding's and deductions where multi-state tax laws are involved as well as payments on sales draws and commissions.
- Prepares payroll for distribution; processes purchase requisitions and travel requests/reimbursements.
- Maintains inventory and ordering of office supplies. Sorts and distributes all incoming mail.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Ability to demonstrate fundamental knowledge of payroll concepts, practices and policies with the ability to use them in varied situations.
- A solid customer service acumen and interpersonal skills to effectively work with both internal and external customers and respond to requests in a timely and respectful manner.
- Detail oriented with strong planning and organizational skills while balancing multiple priorities.
- Computer skills proficiency inclusive of ability to access, enter, and interpret computerized data/information.
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
