Part Time Bookkeeper

Job Title: Bookkeeper (Part-Time)

Location: On-site, South River, NJ

Compensation: $35.00–$40.00/hour

Employment Type: Part-time (20 hours per week), Temporary, Ongoing

Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join their team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background, experience with QuickBooks, and the ability to maintain accurate financial records while ensuring compliance with established accounting procedures and GAAP standards.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 4 hours per day (20 hours per week)

Start: August 31, 2026

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and record daily business transactions.
• Reconcile bank accounts and maintain the general ledger in QuickBooks.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including verifying and paying invoices.
• Review, code, and record journal entries and other financial transactions.
• Prepare financial reports and reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy.
• Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding payments and financial records.
• Perform other bookkeeping and accounting duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Associate's Degree in Accounting required.
• Minimum of 3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles.
• Experience with general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and meet deadlines.
