Project Controller

[About the Role]Join our Kansas City-based team as a Project Controller and play a pivotal role in driving the success of large-scale capacity expansion projects within packaging and process manufacturing. You’ll spearhead project scheduling, facilitate on-time equipment delivery, and collaborate with diverse cross-functional teams using advanced project management tools. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced project schedulers seeking professional growth, technical challenges, and the chance to make a measurable impact on project outcomes.[Responsibilities]- Lead end-to-end project schedule development and management in Microsoft Project, ensuring high schedule confidence levels and alignment with project scope.- Evaluate procurement, scope, and staffing variables to recommend optimal scheduling solutions and identify acceleration opportunities.- Conduct comprehensive schedule analysis, including critical path, cost loading, schedule logic, and milestone tracking.- Generate schedule summaries, E-Trending reports, and performance metrics for leadership and stakeholder reviews.- Facilitate weekly project schedule review meetings, ensuring clear communication of risks, issues, and progress.- Coordinate Equipment Status Memorandum (ESM) activities with internal teams, design firms, and vendors to secure timely equipment delivery.- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams on resource allocation, issue resolution, and project optimization.- Interpret P&ID and electrical drawings to support scheduling decisions and project execution.- Support sourcing plans, purchasing requisition processes, and cost validation activities.- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining urgency in schedule and cost performance.[Required Skills and Experience]- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation & Control Engineering, or equivalent.- 7+ years of hands-on project scheduling experience.- Advanced expertise in Microsoft Project and Critical Path Methodology (CPM).- Experience managing Level 2 project schedules.- Strong ability to analyze, optimize, and communicate complex project schedules.- Proficiency in stakeholder coordination and cross-functional teamwork.- Experience with SAP for reporting and spend management.- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and standards.[Preferred Skills]- Direct experience with Touchplan and LEAN scheduling concepts.- Familiarity with procurement tracking, ESM/ISM processes, and engineering work processes.- Background in packaging or process manufacturing environments.- Experience supporting small project funding and WBS management.[Benefits]- Dynamic, collaborative work environment with opportunities for career advancement.- Exposure to innovative project delivery methods and cutting-edge scheduling tools.- Competitive compensation package.- Ongoing professional development and training support.- Be part of a high-impact team shaping the future of capacity expansion projects.[How to Apply]Ready to drive project excellence and grow your career?
