Project Accountant, Award Services

POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Ecommerce Accountant is responsible for the financial management, analysis, and reporting of ITA Group's ecommerce and reward fulfillment operations, including Award Services, storefront solutions, prepaid card programs, and related transaction-based products and services.

The Ecommerce Accountant supports the accounting and financial operations of Award Services and related ecommerce programs by managing the monthly financial close process, revenue recognition, deferred revenue review, financial controls, and reporting processes. This role works closely with Accounting, Award Services, and client-facing teams to ensure accurate financial records, resolve transactional issues, and support scalable accounting processes in a high-volume, transaction-based environment.

The successful candidate combines strong accounting knowledge, analytical thinking, systems expertise, and a continuous improvement mindset to support a growing ecommerce and rewards-based business.

HIRING REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required, or equivalent work experience. 
• Minimum of two years of experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting. 
• Basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. 
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with accounting systems, reporting tools, or operational data sources; Sage Intacct experience preferred. 
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills, with the ability to research variances, resolve discrepancies, and support accurate financial reporting. 
• Ability to manage recurring deadlines, prioritize multiple responsibilities, and communicate risks or competing priorities in a timely manner. 
• Ability to communicate financial information clearly and professionally to Accounting, Award Services, client-facing teams, leadership, and other internal partners. 
• Ability to identify, evaluate, and support process improvement or automation opportunities that improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. 
• Willingness to learn, adapt, challenge current processes, and contribute to practical solutions in a changing business environment. 
• Strong sense of ownership, accountability, professionalism, and commitment to internal and external customer service.
• Ability to listen, understand and respond to external and internal customers’ needs in a timely manner; customer service experience in a service-related industry preferred.
• Ability to work the time necessary to complete projects and/or meet deadlines.
