General Summary: The Accountant is a tactical and strategic role responsible for supporting the Storck North American subsidiaries’ (U.S. and Canada) with best-in-class accounting and forecasting. Scope of responsibilities include annual budget and quarterly forecasting, cross-functional support, month and year-end close process, accounts payable processing and audit and tax support.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:   

Plan & Forecasting

• Annual Budget & Quarterly Forecast – Participate and lead portions of financial planning for full US P&L including Volume, Revenue, COGS, Marketing, and SG&A expense. 
• Functional Finance & Accounting Support – Support key functions including Supply Chain, Marketing, and HR in cost center planning and tracking of actual expenses.
• Product Costing & Reporting – Liaison with key Corporate Controlling partners to create accurate item level product costing based on latest commodity and marketplace conditions.

Accounting

• Annual & Month End Close – Assist with all necessary close procedures including preparing and reviewing General Leder postings, providing relevant financial statement variance analytics, account reconciliations and assisting with onsite physical inventory counts.
• Accounts Payable – Handle all incoming inquiries related to accounts payable for marketing and SG&A expenses. Specific tasks include establishing purchase orders, coding and approving invoices and working together with Corporate to ensure timely payment.
• Audit & Tax Support – Provide support for the Internal and External auditors and consultants. This includes gathering documentation, reconciling accounts and maintaining organized and accurate records.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

• Strong grasp of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and concepts
• Highly organized and detail oriented
• Team player with a positive attitude towards contributing and learning
• Intermediate or better knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Experience using SAP is preferred

Education and Experience: 

• 1-5 years prior experience in an accounting role
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or CPA; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Working Conditions: Hybrid Work Model, including Monday and Friday Work from Home, and Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday in normal working conditions for an office environment downtown Chicago, IL.

Travel: Approximately 0-5%, which could include international travel. 

Other Qualification, Safety Procedures: Must be willing to follow and comply with communicated Company, Travel, and Retailer safety procedures, which may include COVID-19 testing or following other safety procedures in order to attend meetings, travel domestically or internationally, comply with Retail Partner safety procedures, and/or follow other workplace health and safety requirements to fulfil job duties.

What We Offer:

The salary range for this position is USD $65,000- $85,000 annually at the time of this posting.  Pay is based on several factors, including but not limited to position offered, education, skills, work experience, and other factors permitted by law.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.  This position is also eligible for bonus pay.
