Purpose: This full-time 35-hour/week position will be responsible for performing assigned general and specific accounting duties professionally and confidentially, and with a high degree of personal integrity.
Essential Job Functions:
- Maintain the general ledger, including reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
- Prepare financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Reconcile various bank accounts.
- Monitor and track activity related to the Housing Choice Voucher Program.
- Maintain fixed asset ledgers by program area, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
- Receive, organize, verify, approve, and code vendor payments in accordance with ACHA procedures.
- Monitor vendor contracts and ensure proper payment tracking.
- Perform financial close-out procedures for vacated tenants and support tenant-related legal follow-up, as appropriate.
- Assist with year-end closing processes and annual audit preparation.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the department’s effectiveness and efficiency.

- Must possess and maintain a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license.

Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
- Experience in government or public sector accounting is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Physical Requirements:
- Work is performed in both office and community settings.
- Must be able to attend meetings or events at various ACHA and community locations.
- Must be capable of working in environments that may be hot, cold, damp, or dusty.
- Requires sufficient manual dexterity for operating standard office equipment (e.g., computer, phone, calculator).
- Must be able to lift and handle small office items such as files, reports, and supplies.
