Financial Accountant

PURPOSE OF POSITION

The job of Financial Accountant was established for the purpose/s of providing support to department activities with specific responsibility for fiscal reporting, budget development and ensuring that overall fiscal policies, practices and/or regulations meet compliance requirements; maintaining accurate account balances; evaluating feasibility of services within budget parameters; ensuring efficient use of financial resources; and providing financial information, guidance and recommendations to the department administration, Superintendent, Board, and/or regulatory agencies.

Education Required:
Bachelor’s degree in related area.
Prefer:
An expanded listing of the Required Qualifications can be used to further determine a person’s ability to be productive and successful in the job. These Preferred Qualifications are “nice to have” but are not essential to carrying out the day-to-day functions of the job.
Experience Required: Job Related experience required.
Other Qualifications: 5 years of related experience in general ledger, financial reporting, budgeting, purchasing or auditing considered an equivalency in lieu of education requirement.
