Location: Livingston, NJ – This is a full-time, on-site position where you'll work closely with leadership and the accounting team in a collaborative office environment.
Note: Applicants must have at least 2+ years of bookkeeping experience within a law firm. Experience with legal accounting systems and trust account reconciliation is strongly preferred.

Job Description
- Manage daily bookkeeping functions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Reconcile operating and attorney trust bank accounts.
- Maintain accurate general ledger records and prepare journal entries.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement preparation.
- Support leadership with financial reporting and ad hoc analysis.
- Monitor accounting processes and recommend workflow improvements.
- Help maintain internal financial controls and compliance.
- Utilize legal accounting software to ensure accurate financial records.
- Collaborate with attorneys, leadership, and administrative staff on financial matters.
- Maintain strict confidentiality while handling sensitive financial information.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of bookkeeping experience within a law firm.
- Strong knowledge of AP, AR, general ledger, reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Experience preparing financial statements.
- Proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with legal accounting software.
- Familiarity with Tabs, Clio, Elite, Aderant, or similar legal accounting platforms preferred.
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
