Job Summary:

The Project Accountant reports to the Business Controller and is responsible for managing project billing, invoice processing, project budgeting, project reporting, and is a critical business partner to the Program Management Office (PMO), Design & Engineering (D&E), and Operations Finance. This position is an integral part of our monthly closing process to ensure project revenue and costs are accurately recorded. Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Project billing monthly, for time and materials projects as well as fixed bid/milestone-based projects, ensuring project revenue and costs are accurately reported in the correct period. Effective collaboration with Operations Finance on program-level and project-level revenue, costs, and margin analysis and reporting, and ensuring timely understanding of variances and root cause relative to AOP and forecast. Project set up and management for new projects, closing completed projects, and reporting on status. Build strong relationships with the PMO team to facilitate accurate time reporting from the D&E and other teams throughout the month, tracking of material costs, and other fees. Support the PMO team with budget analysis on a program, project, and Statement of Work (SOW) basis. Assist with external and internal audits, providing applicable data and information. A key focus of this position will be to improve business processes by eliminating waste and increasing quality while achieving and maintaining optimal levels of process performance.  This includes driving accurate working capital and working to optimize working capital at each individual program level. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Accounting or Finance from four-year college or university or equivalent

Experience:

Three or more years of public accounting and/or industry experience Experience in project accounting and billing is highly desirable Experience in a manufacturing, medical device, or CDMO environment is highly desirable

Skills:

Technology - Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook & PowerPoint; advanced Excel. Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills. Working Habits - Self-motivated and able to work independently and collaboratively. Must be able to multi-task, manage time well and meet critical deadlines. Communication - Excellent interpersonal & communications skills, both verbal and written; strong organizational skills. Established, hands-on experience utilizing Epicor ERP or similar ERP for manufacturing accounting is highly desirable.

Compensation
