Ministry Accounting Associate III

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
The Accounting Associate will assist in the daily operations of the Ministry Accounting Services.This role will assist in managing and overseeing the day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring financial transparency and accuracy in all church-related transactions. The Accounting Associate will play an important role in maintaining financial records, processing contributions, and assisting with budgeting, reporting, and audits. This includes certain clerical duties as assigned. This is a part-time role with an expecation of 25-28 hours per week. 
REPORTING
The Accounting Associate reports to the Supervisor, Ministry Accounting Services.

BROAD JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Process invoices, contributions, and payments, ensuring accurate coding and timely 
processing of all transactions.
2. Record and track individual and group donations, ensuring accurate documentation for 
tax purposes and issuing receipts as needed.
3. Assist in preparing financial reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss 
statements, and budget vs. actual reports for church leadership.
4. Help maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring proper classification and 
accurate reporting of financial data.
5. Assist in preparing the annual church budget and track actual expenditures against the 
budget, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
6. Follow set standard operating procedures for all accounting services processing
7. Document correspondence and scan mailings in appropriate WatersEdge software
8. Engage the Supervisor, Ministry Accounting Services regarding the progress, 
challenges, and success of the Program

Job Classifications and Requirements

Working Environment

• This position generally works in an office environment but may occasionally be required to perform job duties outside the typical office setting.

• Travel and operation of a vehicle may be required.
