Overview / Responsibilities
Wood is searching for a talented Intermediate Accountant to support our Global Mining & Minerals business. This individual can be located in Oakville, ON or Saskatoon, SK. The Intermediate Accountant will be responsible for accounting, reporting, budgets / forecasts.
The Intermediate Accountant will interface with a variety of finance professionals, across a variety of locations to ensure that robust financials are delivered. Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Finance Manager to produce monthly reporting, budgets and forecasts
- Prepare monthly journal entries for prepaid expenses and accruals.
- Enter Journals in Oracle, ensuring proper supporting documentation is maintained.
- Enter journals in Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) consolidation system, ensuring proper supporting documentation is maintained.
- Prepare input files and upload monthly financial and supplementary data to HFM.
- Review intercompany matching reports and prepare adjusting entries.
- Support annual financial audits as required.
- Assist as required with uploading Budgets and Forecasts to HFM.
- Prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations using Blackline.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Economics or related field required.
- Professional Qualifications in Accounting (CPA) is an asset.
- Minimum of seven (5) years experience, ideally in an Engineering Consultancy firm or Oil & Gas project environment
- Experience working with ERP systems - Oracle and HFM.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills, combined with a strong understanding of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables and V – lookups)
- Excellent time-management skills, to be able to meet month end reporting deadlines
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently as well as with a variety of professionals in a team environment
- Strong communication skills (both written and spoken) in English
- Organized and able to provide real time information quickly to stakeholders.
- Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required
