Bookkeeper

Pay: Probationary Rate CA$26.84 After Probation CA$31.57 per hour

The hourly wage for this position is currently $25.00 per hour. Upon implementation of the collective agreement, the wage rate will increase to $26.84 per hour during the probationary period and $31.57 per hour after successful completion of probation. Employees will also be entitled to retroactive pay as outlined in the collective agreement, subject to confirmation and receipt of applicable funding. The timing of these changes will be implemented in accordance with the collective agreement implementation schedule over the coming months.

Location: Fernwood Neighbourhood House, in-person, on-site

Management status: Non-Manager

Reports to: Operations Coordinator

Direct Reports: None

Hours: Part-time position , Monday-Friday. Scheduled shifts may fall between 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Position Summary

Fernwood Neighbourhood House is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support day-to-day financial and administrative operations. This role combines bookkeeping, payroll support, and general office administration in a community-based environment.

Fernwood Neighbourhood House is a unionized workplace, and this position is part of the BC General Employees' Union (BCGEU) bargaining unit.

Wages, benefits, and other terms and conditions of employment are governed by the Collective Agreement. Please note that certain wage increases may be subject to the availability of funding. Where applicable and funding is received, eligible employees may receive retroactive wage adjustments in accordance with the Collective Agreement and funding requirements.

Union dues will be deducted from employees' pay in accordance with the Collective Agreement and BCGEU policies.
