Job Description
We are assisting an ASE Member looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to support the financial operations of their dealership. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely payments, and supporting month-end and audit processes. You will work closely with the Controller and finance team to ensure compliance with company policies and accounting best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner
- Review invoices for proper approvals, coding, and supporting documentation
- Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH payments, and other disbursements
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies or payment issues
- Maintain organized and accurate accounts payable files and records
- Communicate with vendors regarding payment status and account inquiries
- Assist with month-end close, including reconciliations and accruals
- Accurately enter financial data into the accounting system
- Maintain and update financial spreadsheets and documentation
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Assist with audits and compliance reviews
- Process employee expense reports and reimbursements
- Support general administrative and clerical functions within the finance department
- Assist with truck sales transactions and validate sales commissions (as assigned)
- Maintain accurate sales logs and documentation in accordance with retention policies
- Respond to internal and external inquiries related to accounts payable
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 1–2 years of accounting or finance experience (internships welcome)
- Prior experience in the trucking industry preferred
- High volume invoice processing
- Basic understanding of accounting principles
- Experience with accounting software systems
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving ability
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Schedule Requirements
- Must be available to work 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM Monday-Friday
- Must be available for a rotating Saturday shift (7:00 AM – 1:00 PM)
