In this entry level accounting role, you will have opportunity to gain hands on experience across multiple areas of accounting, work alongside experienced professionals, and build a strong foundation for future growth within our organization. 

Wage: $20.80 - $23.50 hourly

What You’ll Be Doing 

As an Accounting Assistant, you will support the day-to-day accounting operations for our Head Office team through a variety of responsibilities, including: 

• Processing vendor invoices and employee expense submissions  
• Reconciling vendor statements and open credits  
• Preparing cheques and EFTs for approval and submission  
• Recording monthly journal entries using templates  
• Completing VISA reconciliations  
• Managing Telus and Eastlink billing processes  
• Preparing cheque bank deposits  
• Performing bank reconciliations  
• Preparing monthly bank transfer files for management fees, rent, interest, CCC, and VISA payments  
• Reconciling lot supplies accounts  
• Preparing external invoices, including tenant invoicing  
• Preparing and issuing internal invoices on both monthly and yearly schedules  
• Supporting related party group reconciliations  
• Assisting with special projects and training initiatives  
• Providing support during audit processes  

What We’re Looking For

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills  
• A willingness to learn and grow within an accounting environment  
• Strong communication and time management skills  
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline driven environment  
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel  
• Previous accounting, administration, or office experience is considered an asset, but not required 
• Post secondary education in accounting, business, or finance is considered an asset
