You will perform regular and recurring accounting duties such as calculating, posting, verifying, preparing financial data and reconciling accounts while working cooperatively and effectively with the public and other employees.Job ResponsibilitiesPosts financial transactions to manual and/or automated accounting systems, examines accounts for, and corrects posting errors; adjusts, balances and reconciles accountsResearches, compiles, computes and prepares statistical and/or fiscal reports and services to meet management information needs.Receives and responds to inquiries and complaints from operational employees, researches account records; provides explanation of procedures and processes.Maintains automated, as well as manual files for financial data storage and retrieval.Inputs information in automated system; balances input data against reports; responds to inquiries concerning processes.Audits information to ensure the accuracy of data entered into the financial accounting systemPerforms a variety of general tasks; operates typewriters, personal computers, copiers and other office equipment; composes routine correspondence and/or prepares notices/forms of action taken; performs administrative tasks in support of department operationsCopies, compiles, collates, transcribes, files, or posts data and/or information following a schema or plan for the purpose of recording, referencing, describing, or reporting information for work assignments; records, files, enters and/or stores dataAdditional Qualifications/ResponsibilitiesEducation/ExperienceTwo-year business/accounting degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Specific Knowledge, Skills, License, Certifications Etc.Basic understanding of accounting and auditing procedures and techniques.Knowledge of construction industry procedures related to accounting practices.Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a team player.Proficiency with MS Word and Excel applications.Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.Environmental Factors and/or Physical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.
