Basic Function

HF Sinclair in Artesia, NM is seeking an Accountant. In this role, you will conduct complex accounting assignments for the Accounting department with minimal supervision and act as resource and lead position for less experienced personnel. 

Job Duties

Special assignments projects or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.

Experience

A minimum of five years of job-related accounting work experience is required.

Education Level

A minimum of a Bachelors Degree, in accounting, finance, or related field is required.     Preferred Education:  CPA designation is preferred.

Required Skills

Must be able to perform complex accounting analysis and mathematical calculations. Must have advanced knowledge of Microsoft products, experience with accounting, and depending on assignment maintenance software. A broad understanding of accounting practices and procedures is required. Must have advanced reading and writing skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communication.     Preferred Skills:  Experience in corporate accounting and SAP FI/CO system experience is preferred.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility

Must be able to manage projects and assignments with extreme accuracy and efficiency.

Work Conditions

Office based and occasional work in a petroleum refinery. May be required to work flexible hours.

Job conditions require sitting, talking or hearing, making visual inspections, making precise hand and finger movements, reaching or grasping, perceiving color differences, and the ability to wear personal protective equipment (beards not permitted). Job conditions may require standing, walking, and lifting and/or carrying up to 25 lbs.
