HornBill has a client looking for a Staff Accountant in Herndon, Virginia (VA). Responsibilities:
- Prepare and manage daily bank transactions and reconcile to the general ledger
- Perform monthly accruals and analyze, record, and amortize prepaid expenses
- Participate in month-end close process and monthly schedules
- Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents and reports
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Perform statistical analysis to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes, and write narrative reports explaining findings
- Monitor compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures
- Assist in SOX audit work to ensure corporate compliance
- Prepare audit schedules and support external auditors
- Audit and substantiate financial transactions and maintain a complete and accurate general ledger
- Support special projects and ad hoc requests
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 0-2 + years of accounting, auditing or financial reporting experience
- Advanced experience with Excel
- Demonstrated knowledge of general ledger and ERP systems
- Able to adhere to strict deadlines
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Experience with Oracle, Hyperion and NetSuite
