Accountant

HornBill's client, a premier publicly traded rapid growth bank, is seeking a Staff Accountant or Senior Accountant in New York, NY. This is an opportunity to have maximum impact in a flat organization where you will get C level exposure. Responsibilities will include:

• Responsible for reconciling the company account on a daily basis and preparing accompanying adjusting journal entries; The position is also responsible for the daily general ledger reconciliation of accounts receivable and payable balances
• Responsible for the month end reconciliation of loan and deposit GL account balances to the Fiserv Core system; Responsible for the month- end recording and reconciliation of fixed assets and prepaid expenses in the Prologue general ledger system
• Preparation and submission of the weekly FR 2900 report; The position also assists in the preparation of the quarterly 041 Call Report
• Assists in the preparation of departmental actual to budget expense analysis
• Updates and distributes daily monthly retail banking deposit and non-interest revenue reports
• Serve as back- up to the assistant controller with establishing new GL accounts, cost centers and alternative branches

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• Three to five years total in a banking environment; Fiserv core banking and Prologue general ledger is a plus
• PC proficient, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word)
• Good working knowledge of GAAP and bank accounting principles
• Should be able to complete tasks in a timely manner and work independently
• Commitment to accuracy, attention to detail and follow-through
• Must possess excellent verbal and communication skills, and strong service and team orientation
