The role
This is a senior hands-on accounting role reporting to the Controller, with broad exposure across accounting operations and regular visibility with teams outside Finance. It suits someone who has strong technical and audit skills, is comfortable owning systems, and takes a service-minded approach to supporting colleagues across the organization.

What you'll do

• Lead assigned month-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations of GL and sub-ledger accounts, using judgment on discrepancies and non-routine transactions
• Lead preparation of assigned audit areas and escalate higher-risk issues to the Controller or Accounting Manager
• Maintain clear, audit-ready documentation for management review and financial reporting
• Own the cash disbursement and release process, ensuring payments comply with internal policy
• Serve as a primary contact with banking and treasury partners and handle research and exception resolution in online banking platforms
• Support the corporate card program, including usage monitoring, GL reconciliation, and resolving disputes with cardholders and providers
• Support tax and information reporting, including Forms 1099, 1096, 1042, and 1042-S, plus property tax filings
• Turn process knowledge into well-documented procedures and system-based practices
• Own day-to-day administration of Concur travel and expense and invoice routing, including user access, configuration, troubleshooting, and vendor relationships
• Use Sage Intacct, Concur, and AP workflow tools to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy
• Identify internal control risks in assigned processes and recommend fixes, working with the Accounting Manager on implementation
• Provide responsive support to internal clients across the organization
• Design and deliver Finance orientation sessions and act as a go-to resource on finance policy
• Partner with Finance colleagues and cross-functional teams on broader projects

What you'll bring

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5+ years of relevant accounting experience with solid working knowledge of GAAP and audit
• Strong systems aptitude, with experience in Sage Intacct or another accounting or ERP system and proficiency in Microsoft Office

Nice to have

• CPA
• Experience in a private foundation or nonprofit environment
• Concur administration experience
