Global Corporate Controller

Primary Purpose

The Global Corporate Controller will play a critical leadership role in shaping Acrow's financial future, strengthening its financial position, and supporting profitable growth across its domestic and international operations.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this individual will have responsibility for the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of the company's worldwide financial reporting and will oversee accounting operations across domestic and international subsidiaries. The Global Corporate Controller will develop and maintain integrated financial reporting systems, ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and applicable IFRS standards, lead the implementation of accounting policies and internal controls, and further develop harmonized management reporting and key performance indicators.

This role requires more than strong technical accounting expertise. The successful candidate will be a hands-on, financially curious leader who is willing to dig into the details, understand the business behind the numbers, and translate financial information into meaningful insights for senior leadership. They will be equally comfortable working with executives, collaborating across functions and geographies, and developing and leading members of the finance organization.

As Acrow continues to grow and evolve, the Global Corporate Controller will also play an important role in strengthening processes, improving financial systems and reporting capabilities, and building the financial infrastructure needed to support the company's future.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, management, and oversight of the accounting function, including staff selection, performance management, career development, coaching, and workload management in support of short- and long-term business objectives.
• Lead the timely and accurate monthly financial close, worldwide financial consolidation, and preparation of internal financial statements across domestic and international operations.
• Maintain a strong understanding of the underlying business and financial results, proactively investigating variances and trends rather than simply reporting the numbers.
• Prepare and communicate meaningful analysis of monthly financial results compared with budget, projections, and prior-year performance.
• Partner with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to analyze financial performance, identify opportunities, and provide recommendations that support profitability and operational efficiency.
• Assist in the standardization and preparation of the company's annual budget, projections, periodic reforecasts, and cash forecasts.
• Assist in the development and continued refinement of company-wide key performance indicators and management reporting.
• Maintain current knowledge of U.S. GAAP and applicable IFRS accounting standards and take a lead role in evaluating and implementing accounting policy changes as required.
• Provide oversight of accounting operations for domestic and international subsidiaries, including control systems, transaction-processing operations, intercompany activity, and accounting policies and procedures.
• Evaluate, strengthen, and implement internal control procedures to mitigate risk and enhance the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of the company's reported financial results.
• Evaluate financial systems, processes, and technology improvements that enhance the efficiency, robustness, scalability, and accuracy of financial consolidation and reporting activities.
• Support and coordinate the annual financial audit and serve as a key point of contact with external auditors.
• Ensure compliance with applicable local, state, federal, and international reporting and tax requirements in coordination with internal and external resources.
• Maintain appropriate oversight of inventory-related accounting and controls and participate directly in physical inventory processes as required.
• Support the company's continued growth, including assisting with financial due diligence related to potential acquisitions and the integration of acquired businesses, accounting policies, procedures, reporting, and ERP systems when applicable.
• Build effective working relationships across the organization and communicate financial information clearly and appropriately to stakeholders at all levels, from accounting team members to executive leadership.
• Support the CEO, President, CFO, and other members of senior leadership on special assignments, financial analyses, and strategic initiatives.
• Understand and adhere to all Acrow policies and applicable laws.
• Travel to other Acrow locations, domestically and internationally, as necessary.
• Perform other duties as required.

Skills and Knowledge

• Strong accounting and controllership experience within a mid-market company or division of a larger corporation. Experience with a national or large regional public accounting firm may also be considered.
• Experience within a manufacturing, distribution, or similarly operationally complex business environment.
• Experience supporting financial reporting across multiple entities and/or international operations.
• Strong, current knowledge of U.S. GAAP, with the ability to research, evaluate, and implement accounting policies and standards.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, consolidations, internal controls, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• A hands-on and intellectually curious approach, with the ability and willingness to dig into financial results, understand underlying business drivers, identify issues, and pursue answers.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop accounting professionals while remaining actively engaged in the work when needed.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively up, across, and throughout the organization, including with senior executives, operational leaders, finance teams, and external partners.
• Ability to operate effectively across different geographies, business functions, and organizational levels.
• Working knowledge of advanced financial and business enterprise software systems and an interest in leveraging technology to improve financial processes and reporting.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable working with complex financial data and reporting environments.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

Minimum Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 8–10 years of progressively responsible accounting and finance experience, or an equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience.
• Demonstrated experience with increasingly broad responsibility within accounting, financial reporting, and/or controllership.
• Experience working with international subsidiaries and multi-entity financial reporting environments, including foreign currency, intercompany accounting, and consolidation of international entities.

Preferred Skills and Knowledge

• Master's degree or MBA.
• CPA designation.
• Experience with INFOR Visual ERP and Crystal Reports.
• Knowledge of IFRS accounting standards.
• Exposure to acquisition due diligence and post-acquisition financial or systems integration is a plus.

The position is based in Parsippany, New Jersey, with an expected schedule of four days onsite and one day remote per week.

Working Conditions

Work is typically performed in an office environment requiring appropriate safety precautions. The position may require some physical effort in the handling of materials, boxes, or equipment and participation in inventory-related activities. Domestic and international travel may be required.
