Junior Controller

Based in Tilburg and reporting to the Head of Finance BiB & SP EU, the Junior Controller supports effective cost control and the wider finance function. The role contributes to accurate and timely financial information, assists with tax and reporting requirements, and supports internal and external audit activities. Working closely with the other members of the controlling team and relevant business stakeholders, the Junior Controller helps maintain reliable financial processes, analyses variances, and contributes to continuous improvement. This position offers a strong foundation for developing broad controlling expertise in an international and collaborative environment.

Finance Support & Team Collaboration

• Supports the Head of Finance and the controlling team with accurate, timely, and well-structured financial information.
• Collaborates closely with the other members of the controlling team, finance colleagues, and business stakeholders to complete recurring and ad hoc activities.
• Contributes to process improvements, documentation, and the consistent application of finance procedures and internal controls.

Cost Control & Optimization

In close collaboration with the Plant Controller:

• Maintains current costs in the system. Calculates and releases new costs.
• Estimates the costs of new products and responds to ad hoc costing requests. Supports analysis to enable informed business decisions.
• Analyzes purchase price (PPVs) and other material variances.
• Supports inventory valuation, stock counts, write-offs, and slow-moving inventory analysis.
• Reconciles inventory and related accounts on a monthly basis.

Reporting

• Supports monthly, quarterly, and annual closing and reporting activities, including data collection, reconciliations, and validation.
• Prepares recurring financial reports and management information under the guidance of senior finance colleagues.
• Investigates variances and helps provide clear explanations of cost movements and business drivers.

Banks, Taxes, Audit, Statistics, Internal controls

In collaboration with the Financial Controller:

• Supports liquidity plan and analyses deviations.
• Understands the Dutch tax environment and provides accurate, high-quality data for VAT, CIT, and other applicable tax submissions.
• Supports external and internal audits
• Supports tax audits when required.
• Supports on statistical surveys delivery, accurately and on time.

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or another relevant field
• Advanced Dutch and English language skills, both written and spoken
• Advanced Excel skills, including data analysis, reporting, and financial modeling functionalities
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Good communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
• Proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and develop within the Controlling function

Nice to Have:

• 1-2 years of relevant experience in Controlling / Financial Analysis / Reporting or a similar Finance function
• Experience working with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
• Financial performance analysis
