Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our General Ledger (GL) Accounting team. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will support GAAP accounting, month-end close processes/journals, reconciliations and flux analysis. This role will be a key player in our GL close cycle with high visibility into our business. The Senior Accountant is detailed oriented with high energy and integrity and thrives in a dynamic environment. You are initiative-taking, eager to learn and contribute, and focused on providing high-quality deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the general ledger for assigned subsidiaries, ensuring accurate and timely records of all financial transactions.
• Own payroll and employee-related accounting end to end, including payroll actuals and accruals, bonuses, commissions, severance, 401(k), employee benefits, HSA/FSA, and related reconciliations.
• Analyze monthly financial statements and variances against prior periods/prior month providing concise explanations to support findings.
• Summarize and present flux explanations to management.
• Prepare work papers and month-end reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accounts and select income statement accounts to support amounts reported in the financial statements and general ledger. This includes identifying discrepancies, providing potential resolutions when necessary.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, Revenue Operations, Legal, Tax, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment between operations and accounting.
• Assist with intercompany, lease, debt, and segment accounting processes including M&A transactional accounting.
• Ensure the effectiveness of internal controls over assigned GL areas and collaborate with the internal audit team to address any identified deficiencies.
• Ensure compliance with all SOX and IPE requirements.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead initiatives to refine and streamline the month-end close and general ledger processes.

Skills and Experience needed for success in this role

• 3+ years of accounting experience in a similar field.
• Experience as a Senior Accountant preferred.
• BS/BA degree in accounting required.
• Strong understanding of month-end and year-end close processes of a public company.
• Working knowledge of US GAAP standards and understanding internal controls.
• Strong diligence, well-organized and have solid interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to solve issues and work independently.
• Strong accountability for assigned work.
• Proficient excel skills will be critical for the success of this role.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, work under pressure, and meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment.

Nice to Haves

• Experience in a SAAS GL Accounting Role
• Big 4 or public accounting experience
• CPA or current CPA candidate
• Experience with NetSuite, OneStream or another ERP software

Where

Remote within Canada

The EverCommerce team is distributed globally, with teams in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., New Zealand, and Australia. With a widely distributed team, we are used to working remotely across different time zones. This role can be based anywhere in Canada– if you’re close to one of our offices, we can set you up in-office or you can work 100% remotely. Please note that you must be eligible to work without sponsorship to qualify for this position, and this role may require travel to our Corporate Headquarters in Denver, Colorado, or to other office locations around North America.

Compensation

The target total compensation for this position is $127,000–$155,000 CAD per year in most Canada locations. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including location, local market variances, and candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
