About the Opportunity 
The Controller will oversee the Company’s accounting operations and financial reporting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and sound fiscal management. This position works closely with the CFO to drive financial strategy, support operational decisions, and improve processes to support the company’s continued success. 
Key Responsibilities 

• Lead and manage the Company’s day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, job costing, general ledger, cash management, and financial reporting. 
• Lead, mentor, develop, and evaluate accounting department personnel while establishing clear responsibilities, accountability, cross-training, and effective workflows.  
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes and ensure the timely preparation of accurate financial statements and supporting schedules. 
• Develop, document, implement, and enforce accounting policies and procedures to improve accuracy, consistency, efficiency, and scalability. 
• Oversee the administration and financial controls of the Company's commercial credit card and expense programs.  
• Manage financial relationships and reporting requirements with banks, bonding companies, and external CPA. 
• Manage and evaluate the Company’s accounting and financial systems and identify opportunities to improve system utilization, integration, automation, and reporting. 

About You 

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required. 
• Several years of accounting experience including experience in a supervisory and accounting leadership role; construction industry experience strongly preferred. 
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, job cost accounting, percentage-of-completion accounting, and WIP reporting. 
• Strong proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and Microsoft Excel, with demonstrated ability to evaluate processes, improve system utilization, and leverage technology and automation. 
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities. 
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. 
• Proactive, dependable, and accountable with demonstrated ability to take ownership of responsibilities and follow issues through resolution.
