About the Role

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Technical Services Controller provides expert technical support to improve aircraft reliability and support safe, efficient, and compliant operations.

You’ll work closely with Engineering, Maintenance Control, and Maintenance Planning to monitor aircraft history, analyze maintenance data, and proactively identify chronic or recurring discrepancies. By reviewing daily snag reports, operational events, and maintenance trends, you’ll help prioritize technical issues, coordinate troubleshooting efforts, and ensure repair instructions are available to support timely resolution.

This role is ideal for an experienced aviation maintenance professional who enjoys digging into complex technical problems, recognizing trends, and working across teams to improve fleet performance.

A Day in the Life

In this role, you’ll:

• Partner with Engineering, Maintenance Control, and Maintenance Planning to coordinate timely maintenance actions and establish appropriate priorities for chronic and repeat aircraft discrepancies.
• Monitor aircraft history, daily snag reports, and maintenance data to identify trends, recurring discrepancies, and opportunities to improve fleet reliability.
• Generate Technical Services Items to support troubleshooting and repair of chronic and critical issues affecting on-time performance or aircraft airworthiness.
• Ensure aircraft systems repair instructions are issued promptly for chronic and repeat discrepancies.
• Provide technical troubleshooting support using applicable maintenance manuals, repair data, component manuals, and other approved reference materials.
• Maintain and update the database for Operationally Significant Items, including Air Turn Backs, Diversions, and High-Speed Rejected Takeoffs.
• Track significant technical events and recurring issues through resolution, helping ensure appropriate actions and follow-up are completed.
• Assist in identifying and recommending improvements to tooling and test equipment that can strengthen maintenance execution and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate across Technical Operations to communicate technical findings, priorities, and required actions clearly and effectively.
• Maintain awareness of applicable training requirements and ensure required certifications remain current before performing assigned functions.
• Support additional technical initiatives and fleet reliability needs as assigned.

Required Experience

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of line maintenance or Technical Operations experience with a Part 121 or Part 135 operator.
• Avionics and technical troubleshooting experience.
• Violation-free FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate.
• Experience using aircraft maintenance reference materials, including Manufacturer’s Maintenance Manuals, Structural Repair Manuals, Illustrated Parts Catalogs, Component Maintenance Manuals, and related technical documentation.
• Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong organizational and task management skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills within a cross-functional team environment.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented Technical Operations environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Current and valid driver’s license with REAL ID.
• Valid passport.

Preferred Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• 5+ years of line maintenance or Technical Operations experience with a Part 121 or Part 135 operator.
• Previous experience as an aircraft maintenance lead or supervisor.
• Familiarity with AI agent-based workflows used in aircraft maintenance, technical troubleshooting, or related applications.

Additional Information

This role requires the ability to work 10- or 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Occasional travel may be required based on operational needs.

The position involves intermittent physical activity, including bending, reaching, prolonged periods of sitting, and occasionally lifting 5–20 pounds.
