To learn more about us, visit www.impact-advisors.com About the Role We are seeking a highly motivated, collaborative, and experienced Corporate Controller to lead our accounting operations and ensure timely, complete, and accurate financial reporting. As a key member of the Finance leadership team, the Controller will provide technical accounting leadership, establish strong controls and scalable processes, and prepare financial statements and supporting schedules for management, lenders, investors, and other stakeholders. About the You The ideal candidate combines deep U.S. GAAP and technical accounting expertise with strong leadership, sound judgment, and a strategic mindset. In a high-growth environment, this person must be a proactive and resourceful problem-solver who can navigate ambiguity, research unfamiliar issues independently, build strong cross-functional relationships, and translate accounting expertise into practical solutions. Key Responsibilities Lead the accounting team and manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring transactions are recorded in the proper period and financial statements are timely, complete, and accurate in accordance with U.S. GAAP. Oversee general ledger operations, consolidations, intercompany accounting, reconciliations, accruals, and financial statement preparation and analysis. Provide technical accounting leadership on complex matters, including revenue recognition, business combinations, purchase accounting, acquisitions, consolidations, and other emerging accounting issues. Establish, maintain, and continuously improve accounting policies, processes, and internal controls to support compliance with U.S. GAAP and new accounting standards. Develop, analyze, and interpret accounting and financial information to assess profitability, fiscal soundness, and operating effectiveness, and provide insights to senior leadership to support strategic decision-making. Own and oversee key accounting processes, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash management, and related reconciliations and analysis. Oversee cash forecasting, liquidity management, and banking relationships to support operational and strategic objectives. Supervise the bi-monthly payroll process in partnership with Human Resources to ensure timely and accurate payments. Direct external financial audits, maintain strong relationships with external auditors, and identify procedural improvements that improve audit readiness and shorten the audit cycle. Direct preparation and coordination of tax distributions, tax provisions, returns, extensions, and applicable state and local tax filings. Maintain state and local organizational compliance, including annual reports, nexus filings, and coordination with third-party administrators. Prepare lender and third-party investor compliance certifications and related schedules and support ongoing lender reporting requirements. Support acquisition due diligence, purchase accounting, integration activities, and ongoing accounting for acquired businesses. Lead continued optimization of financial systems, workflows, automation, and reporting capabilities; support ERP implementations and promote best practices around accounting policies, revenue recognition, and expense recognition. Collaborate with Consulting and other business leaders to ensure the accuracy of financial reporting and strengthen cross-functional financial processes. Recruit, lead, mentor, develop, and retain a high-performing accounting team while fostering accountability, continuous improvement, service excellence, and professional development. Ensure timely preparation and issuance of required 1099s for third-party consultants and applicable taxable equity transactions. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent accounting designation required. 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including meaningful leadership responsibility; Controller or Assistant Controller experience strongly preferred. Demonstrated expertise in U.S. GAAP, revenue recognition, consolidations, business combinations, purchase accounting, and technical accounting research. Strong knowledge of internal controls, financial reporting, ERP systems, and SOX compliance frameworks. Experience leading accounting operations within a complex, multi-state environment; experience in a PE-backed and/or high-growth organization strongly preferred. Public accounting experience, ideally with a Big 4 or national firm, strongly preferred. Professional services experience preferred; experience with M&A and integrations strongly preferred. Proficiency with Workday ERP preferred and strong Excel skills required. Demonstrated success managing and developing accounting teams and scaling financial operations. Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills, with strong attention to detail.
