CONTROLLER

Catalyst OrthoScience | Naples, Florida

Help shape the financial foundation of a growing orthopedic medical device company.

Catalyst OrthoScience is a growing, private equity-backed orthopedic medical device company with approximately 52 employees. We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team and help strengthen the financial foundation that supports our continued growth.

This is an opportunity for a hands-on financial leader who enjoys building strong processes, creating financial discipline, and partnering with leadership to help a growing organization scale successfully.

As Controller, you will have broad responsibility for Catalyst's accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, audit activities, and key external financial relationships. You will lead a lean accounting function with one direct report responsible for accounts payable and payroll, while working closely with senior leadership and having meaningful visibility into the decisions that drive the business.

If you have experience in medical devices, particularly orthopedics, you will bring valuable perspective to our organization and industry. Just as important, we are looking for someone who can move comfortably between strategy and execution, someone who can see the bigger financial picture while still being willing to roll up their sleeves.

What You'll Do

·       Lead the company's accounting operations and financial reporting, ensuring timely and accurate reporting in accordance with GAAP.

·       Establish and maintain strong financial policies, procedures, reporting systems, and internal controls.

·       Oversee inventory accounting for the company's manufactured and distributed products.

·       Lead and develop the accounting team, including direct oversight of the accounts payable and payroll functions.

·       Manage external audit activities and annual financial reporting requirements.

·       Drive budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and cash flow planning.

·       Prepare monthly and annual bank covenant compliance reporting.

·       Partner with company leadership to develop revenue forecasts and support business decisions.

·       Monitor financial performance, identify trends, and translate financial information into actionable insights.

·       Manage banking, tax, legal, and audit relationships.

·       Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local financial requirements.

·       Prepare financial analyses and special reports to support leadership decision-making.

·       Assist with investor communications and support Carta cap table management as needed

·       Serve as Trustee of the company's 401(k) plan, ensuring required filings and updates are handled timely.

What We're Looking For

·       Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

·       CPA required.

·       Significant accounting and financial leadership experience, ideally at the Controller or senior accounting leadership level.

·       Strong command of GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, audit, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.

·       Medical device experience strongly preferred; orthopedic medical device experience is especially valued.

·       Experience working in a growing, entrepreneurial, or smaller-company environment is a plus.

·       A hands-on leadership style and comfort operating within a lean accounting team, balancing strategic financial leadership with day-to-day execution.

·       Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·       Strong leadership and collaboration skills.

·       Experience with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office is helpful.
