Staff Accountant

Zilka & CompanyAbout Us:Zilka & Company is a fourth-generation, family-owned bakery supply business that’s been serving customers since 1923. We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Staff Accountant to support our financial operations and contribute to our continued growth.Position Overview:The Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day accounting transactions, and supporting the leadership team with financial reporting and administrative tasks. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.Responsibilities:Record and reconcile daily financial transactions.Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.Process invoices, payments, and deposits.Reconcile bank and credit card statements.Maintain accurate general ledger records.Prepare monthly financial reports and summaries.Coordinate with external accountants and tax professionals.Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.Qualifications:2+ years of accounting experience.Proficiency with ERP Systems.Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles.Experience with bank reconciliations.Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.Strong organizational and time-management skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.Ability to handle confidential information professionally. Preferred Qualifications:Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.Experience working with small businesses or professional service firms.Knowledge of sales tax reporting and basic financial analysis.Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics (Great Plains) a plus.Compensation & Benefits:Competitive compensation based on experience.401(k) plan.Health Insurance.Dental & Vision Insurance.Paid time off.Schedule:Monday-Friday (8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.)Work location: In personHow to Apply:Please submit your resume describing your bookkeeping experience and familiarity with accounting software.Zilka & Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer: EEO.
