Since only the best can make the best, Ellison Bakery prides itself on its most important asset, the employees.Purpose:The Accountant is responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. This role will perform account reconciliations, assist with month-end and year-end close processes, support external audit activities, and prepare financial reports to drive informed decision-making. The position works closely with the broader Finance team to maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.Job Responsibilities:General Accounting:Prepare and record journal entries in accordance with GAAP.Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate financial records.Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.Account Reconciliations:Perform balance sheet account reconciliations on a monthly basis.Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.Maintain proper documentation to support all reconciliations.Audit Support:Coordinate with external auditors during year-end audit.Prepare audit schedules and provide requested supporting documentation.Assist in implementing audit recommendations and improvements.Financial Reporting:Prepare recurring financial reports and analysis for management.Assist in variance analysis and explanation of key drivers.Support preparation of internal and external financial statements.Process & Control:Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency.Support documentation and standardization of accounting procedures.Hours:Days.Overtime and weekends may be required.Ellison Core Competencies:The following Leadership Behaviors are important to the success of the organization: Collaboration.Develops Others.Customer Focus.Drive for Results.Motivating Others.Integrity & Trust.Peer Relationships.Skills/Work Experience Required:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.2–4 years of accounting experience (public accounting or manufacturing experience preferred).Knowledge and Skills:Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.Experience with ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel skills.High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.Work Environment:Office-based with regular interaction with operations and production teams.Production area can vary in temperature either be cool or warm depending on the season and possibly humid in the summer months.Concrete floors are slippery, especially when wet.Benefits:Medical.Dental.Optical.Life Insurance.EAP.401(K) with Matching.Paid Personal Time Off.Paid Holidays.Paid Uniforms.Boot Reimbursement.Ellison Bakery is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
