Staff Accountant, Tax

Agency: Omnicom Corporate Job Function: Finance Job Subfunction: Tax Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Staff Accountant, Domestic Tax, to join our Tax Team. Reporting to the Director, Income Tax to support ongoing Federal and State income tax compliance, audits and select tax planning initiatives in a multinational organization. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career tax professional to gain broad exposure to corporate taxation, develop technical expertise, and work closely with experienced tax professionals in a collaborative environment. This corporate role will be based in our NYC or Jersey City office and requires regular in-office presence five days per week, to engage and collaborate in-person with the team and for meetings as required. Essential Functions: Prepare and analyze components of federal, state, and local taxable income calculations Coordinate with external tax service providers to support timely and accurate return filings Review state and local income tax returns for accuracy and reasonableness Assist with Research & Development (R&D) credit studies and supporting documentation Research tax issues and summarize conclusions for internal stakeholders Support the preparation and tracking of estimated and extension tax payments Assist with income tax audits, including responding to IRS and state notices Track, organize, and manage correspondence from taxing authorities Maintain knowledge of legal entities included in income tax filings Collaborate cross-functionally with accounting and finance teams to gather required data Education, Skills and Experience Requirements: Minimum 1 year of tax accounting experience in a tax department within a multinational company and/or public accounting firm Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field CPA or Masters in Taxation desired, but not required Knowledge of Excel (Pivot tables, Vlookups, If formulas) and other Microsoft Office tools Experience with data or automation tools (e.g., Alteryx) is a plus Strong analytical and problem solving skills Detail-oriented with strong planning and organization skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Effective communication skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively US Salary Range $65,000 USD Omnicom’s policy requires employees to work in the office for a minimum of three days a week, unless additional in-office days are directed by their agency or manager.
