Position Overview:

The Staff Accountant supports CORE’s multi-entity accounting operations through accurate financial recordkeeping, tax and regulatory reporting, general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and intercompany accounting. This position helps ensure recurring filings are completed timely, financial transactions are properly recorded, and coding or allocation discrepancies are identified and corrected.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
• Prepare and coordinate recurring payroll tax, sales and use tax, property tax, and other applicable tax filings and reconciliations for multiple CORE entities and jurisdictions.
• Maintain state business registrations, annual corporate reports, licenses, and other recurring regulatory filings and deadlines.
• Prepare and post journal entries and assist with monthly and year-end closing activities.
• Perform general ledger reconciliations; research account variances, miscoding, entity allocation issues, and other discrepancies; and prepare correcting entries as appropriate.
• Prepare, record, and reconcile intercompany transactions and allocations between CORE entities and maintain appropriate supporting documentation.
• Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements, management reporting, and financial information used for budgeting and forecasting.
• Identify recurring accounting issues and recommend improvements to accounting processes, controls, and documentation.
• Prepare schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for financial, tax, insurance, and other audits and year-end reporting.
• Maintain complete and accurate accounting records in accordance with company policies, internal controls, and applicable accounting standards.
• Collaborate with internal departments and external accountants, auditors, tax professionals, and regulatory agencies as necessary.
• Perform other accounting duties and special projects as assigned.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of payroll, tax, employee, and financial information.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.

Experience:

3+ years of progressive accounting experience preferred, including general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, and recurring compliance reporting. Experience supporting multiple legal entities and performing payroll tax filings, intercompany reconciliations, annual entity reporting, and other recurring regulatory requirements is strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of GAAP and internal accounting controls required. Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency, including pivot tables, lookups, data reconciliation and analysis of larger transaction level data sets, and experience using an ERP or general ledger system are required. Experience with PowerQuery, Power BI, accounting-system implementation, data conversion, system integrations, job costing, or management reporting is preferred.
