We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end and year-end closing processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review, and analyze journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing and vendor payments using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations regularly to verify the accuracy of financial data and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Assist with payroll management tasks utilizing systems like ADP, Paychex, Kronos, or UltiPro to ensure timely and accurate employee payments.
- Support compliance efforts related to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and assist in internal audits by providing necessary documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting activities to support organizational goals.
- Maintain detailed records of financial transactions, ensuring adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and governmental accounting standards when applicable.
Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)
Experience:
- QuickBooks: 5 years (Required)
- Accounting: 5 years (Required)
License/Certification:
CPA (Required)

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or progress toward certification is a plus.
- Proven experience in corporate accounting, public accounting, or governmental accounting environments.
- Strong proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or similar platforms; experience with
- Workday or UltiPro is advantageous.
- Knowledge of financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, account analysis, and general ledger reconciliation.
- Familiarity with payroll management systems like ADP or Paychex and experience handling accounts payable/receivable processes.
Ability to perform detailed data entry with high accuracy using 10-key typing skills; experience with double-entry bookkeeping is essential. - Solid understanding of GAAP standards as well as technical accounting principles; experience with SOX compliance is highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical skills combined with strong math aptitude; ability to interpret financial data effectively.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments and support audit activities confidently.
