General Accountant

DG Global Inc. is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented General Accountant to support our growing finance team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working across a variety of accounting functions and is looking to expand their expertise in full-cycle accounting within a collaborative environment.

As a General Accountant, you will contribute to the accuracy and integrity of our financial records while supporting accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, month-end processes, financial reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What You'll Do

Cash Management & Banking

• Monitor daily banking activity and accurately record transactions.

• Prepare with bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.

• Prepare EFT and wire payments for review and approval.

General Accounting

• Prepare and post journal entries.

• Support month-end and year-end close activities.

• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.

• Assist with financial reports, schedules, and working papers.

Accounts Receivable

• Generate and distribute customer invoices.

• Process payments and apply cash receipts.

• Maintain customer account records.

• Support collections activities and resolve account discrepancies.

Accounts Payable

• Review, code, and process vendor invoices.

• Prepare payment batches and support vendor payment processing.

• Reconcile vendor statements and follow up on outstanding items.

• Provide backup support for the Accounts Payable function.

Tax & Compliance

• Prepare with HST filings and government remittances.

• Maintain records for audits and compliance requirements.

• Ensure adherence to company accounting policies and procedures.

Expense Management

• Reconcile corporate credit card statements.

• Verify employee expenses and supporting documentation.

• Investigate and resolve discrepancies.

Process Improvement

• Support accounting process improvement initiatives.

• Assist with ERP upgrades, implementations, and data-cleanup projects.

• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy.

What We're Looking For

Education

• Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution.

Experience

• 3+ years of accounting experience in an accounting or finance environment.

• Experience using Sage or comparable accounting software.

• Experience supporting ERP implementations or system transitions is considered an asset.

Technical Skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and reconciliation processes.

• Experience with accounting software and ERP systems.

• Strong analytical and numerical abilities.
