Duties

• Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory standards.
• Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing procedures.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely payments and collections.
• Conduct bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.
• Support internal controls compliance, including SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) procedures, and assist with audits.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
• Utilize accounting software such as PeopleSoft, Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar platforms for daily transactions and reporting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on projects involving corporate finance, governmental accounting, or non-profit accounting as needed.
• Contribute to the preparation of regulatory reports and ensure adherence to securities law and other legal requirements.
• Mentor junior team members by sharing best practices in technical accounting, financial concepts, and software usage.

Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
• Proven experience in corporate accounting within a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, accrual accounting, double entry bookkeeping, and financial report writing.
• Hands-on experience with financial software such as PeopleSoft, Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar systems.
• Familiarity with SOX compliance requirements and internal control processes.
• Demonstrated ability to perform account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and balance sheet analysis accurately.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and prepare detailed reports.
• Experience with governmental or non-profit accounting is advantageous but not required.
