Staff Accountant - Payables

LaForce is looking for a Staff Accountant – Payables to join our Accounting team and take ownership of key accounting functions that keep our business running smoothly. This is more than processing invoices—you’ll be a trusted resource for vendors and internal teams, help navigate tax compliance, and play an important role in accurate financial reporting and planning.

What You’ll Do:

• Take ownership of the accounts payable process, including matching invoices, processing payments, and resolving billing discrepancies.
• Analyze expenses and ensure accurate GL coding to support reliable financial reporting.
• Build strong relationships with vendors and internal teams while managing credits, returns, and tax-related questions.
• Prepare and file state sales and use tax returns across multiple jurisdictions.
• Help keep the team up to date on changing tax regulations, requirements, and best practices.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and monthly expense analysis.
• Look for opportunities to improve accounting processes, systems, and procedures.

What You'll Bring:

• An associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Comfort working with spreadsheets, ERP systems, and financial data.
• The ability to communicate effectively and build relationships with vendors and coworkers.
• A willingness to learn and stay current on tax regulations and compliance requirements.
• A proactive mindset and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
