New Realm Brewing Company is currently experiencing rapid growth and we are seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join our accounting and finance team. The primary role of the accountant will be to prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities. It is expected the accountant will also develop a deep understanding of brewing and restaurant operations to be effective in their role. Additionally, it is expected that the role will also frequently include ad-hoc analysis and other duties as requested. Duties/Responsibilities, but not limited to:

Performs general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization.
Review GL detail for appropriate coding/outliers.
Assist in preparing monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.
Reconciles bank accounts, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts; manages accounts receivables.
Work closely with sales to effect price updates, conduct sales analysis, and support.
Updates financial performance across reporting platforms.
Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
Files tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.
Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
Analyze expenses and variances between actual, plan, and prior year.
Research questions/expenses for management (field) as needed.
Post manual check payments as needed.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
Solid understanding of basic accounts payable procedures.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage financial records.
Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel, and accounting software.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or related field, required.
At least two years of related experience required.
Experience with Orchestrated Beer or SAP Business One preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
