Job Description

The candidate will play a vital role in helping maintain the accuracy and integrity of the College's financial records during a busy reporting period and switching to the new accounting system.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations and identify and clear unreconciled items promptly;
Assist in monthly close tasks, including preparation of journal entries;
Support the team with account analysis and variance explanations;
Maintain accurate and well-documented reconciliation work papers;
Assist on replying the inquiries on the new accounting system, CUNY Work.
Required Qualifications:
Strong computer skills, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, complex formulas, data analysis);
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
Demonstrated ability to perform complex reconciliations independently;
Solid understanding of general accounting principles
Preferred Qualifications:
5–7 years of relevant accounting experience;
Experience with revenue management in the higher education sector;
Strong background in trial balance analysis and preparing adjusting journal entries
