Staff Accountant

Job Responsibility:

• Prepare and post monthly journal entries, including annuity and endowment-related transactions.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Collaborate with Grants Departments on monthly reconciliations, entries and the year-end grant close cycles.
• Process and reconcile gift activity in accordance with institutional policies

Job Qualifications:

• Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• One to three years of accounting or bookkeping experience preferred.
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
• Experience with ERP systems, such as Oracle preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently
