Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant is responsible for a variety of accounting functions including approving payables, preparing, and posting journal entries, completing monthly variance reporting, and performing month-end closing processes including balance sheet reconciliations. This position also requires effective communication with a remote General Manager and Office Manager on a routine basis. This is a full-time position and reports to the Controller.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES ·         Reviewing and approving accounts payable transactions ·         Own and support the month-end close process including preparing and posting adjusting entries ·         Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations including bank reconciliations ·         Understand and apply capitalization policies when reviewing payables ·         Analytically review monthly financial statements and ensure compliance with GAAP ·         Support day-to-day accounting functions at various park locations ·         Participate in other projects and activities as assigned

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE ·         2+ year of experience or industry-specific education required ·         Working knowledge of GAAP ·         Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience ·         Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel
