Position Summary:
The Staff Accountant will be a key player in ensuring the financial health and accuracy of our operations. Responsibilities include general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, financial reporting, and cost analysis. The ideal candidate will bring a strong accounting background, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a dynamic manufacturing environment. This position plays a key role in supporting accurate financial reporting and the overall success of the finance team.
Primary Functions:
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger for accurate financial records.
- Record financial transactions in compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
- Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset schedule, including tracking asset additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation calculations.
- Prepare and record monthly depreciation expense journal entries and ensure accurate reporting of fixed asset activity.
- Prepare and record payroll journal entries on a semi-monthly basis, including wages, taxes, benefits, and related accruals, ensuring accurate posting to the general ledger.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules in a timely manner.
- Generate and analyze financial reports to support decision-making.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Conduct cost analysis to optimize manufacturing expenditures.
- Collaborate with operational teams to monitor and analyze manufacturing costs.
- Assist with accounts payable activities, including processing transactions and ensuring timely vendor payments.
- Assist with accounts receivable activities, including invoicing, collections, and cash application.
- Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist in the preparation for internal and external audits.
- Collaborate with auditors and provide necessary documentation.
- Stay updated on accounting regulations and ensure adherence to financial reporting standards.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of internal controls.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Three or more years of experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems commonly used in manufacturing
- Advanced Excel skills for financial analysis and reporting
Salary: 65-75K
