Payroll Assistant

Responsibilities:
- Maintain an organized filing system for personnel and payroll records.
- Review timesheets and personnel information for completeness and accuracy; flag discrepancies for review.
- Assist with payroll preparation and distribution of paychecks and earnings statements.
- Track employee leave balances, including FMLA, personal leave, and other absences.
- Verify attendance and hours worked using the company’s timekeeping system.
- Collaborate with management to support payroll accuracy and compliance.
- Work overtime as needed to meet payroll deadlines.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree required; a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of payroll or administrative experience preferred.
- Experience with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Kronos, or similar platforms) preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Ability to handle sensitive employee records and payroll data with strict confidentiality.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively prioritize responsibilities.
- Fluency in multiple languages (Chinese or Vietnamese) is strongly preferred.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- This job may require standing or walking for extended periods of time, lifting up to 50 pounds, and performing repetitive motions.
