About the Role

We are seeking an Interim CFO to support our Office of the CFO Practice for clients in the DFW, Houston, or Austin metro areas. In this role, you will take ownership of financial strategy, capital structure, and operational finance, partnering closely with CFOs, private equity firms, and portfolio company executives.

This role requires a hands-on, execution-driven finance leader who can stabilize financial operations, lead transactions, and optimize financial performance during periods of transition or rapid growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Financial Leadership – Serve as a key financial executive, developing and executing strategic financial plans to support scalability, growth, and profitability.
• Private Equity Partnership – Work closely with PE sponsors and board members, providing financial insights, operational reporting, and value-creation strategies.
• Operational Finance & Performance Optimization – Oversee budgeting, forecasting, working capital management, and cash flow optimization to enhance financial efficiency.
• Transaction Execution & M&A Support – Lead due diligence, financial modeling, and post-merger integration for acquisitions, divestitures, and recapitalizations.
• Turnaround & Restructuring Leadership – Develop financial stabilization strategies for companies experiencing operational challenges or liquidity constraints.
• Financial Reporting & Compliance – Ensure GAAP compliance, internal controls, and regulatory adherence, while improving financial processes.
• ERP & System Implementation – Lead finance system upgrades and ERP implementations to streamline reporting and operational finance functions.
• Team Leadership & Development – Mentor and develop internal finance teams to enhance execution and long-term sustainability.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• 15+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, with prior experience as a CFO in a private equity-backed company preferred.
• Strong expertise in financial strategy, operational finance, and transaction execution.
• Experience in M&A, divestitures, financial integrations, and capital markets.
• Track record of working with private equity firms and navigating high-growth or distressed environments.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems, financial systems transformations, and process improvements.
• Ability to partner with executive teams, investors, and operational leaders to drive financial results.
• CPA, CFA, or MBA preferred but not required.
