Position Overview:  We are seeking a detail-oriented General Accountant with a passion for accuracy and organization to join our team in Alexandria.  The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic and a passion for providing exceptional service.  This role focuses on managing our Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions to ensure seamless financial operations.  If you are looking for a company that values your skills, offers competitive pay and excellent benefits, we want to hear from you! 

Key Responsibilities:

As a General Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing daily accounts receivable functions such as:  processing customer invoices, preparing and mailing invoices and statements, obtaining down payments from customers, and running and applying payments to customer accounts. 

The General Accountant will also oversee day-to-day accounts payable functions.  This will include entering invoices that have appropriate documentation, credit card statements, expense reports, credit memos, and other accounts payable related items. 

The General Accountant will provide light office support and provide accounting support to the controller. 

Qualifications:

• 
  Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience.
• 
  Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• 
  Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting systems.
• 
  Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• 
  Ability to work well with others.
