About the Company Hiring: Our client is an global manufacturing company headquartered in Buffalo, NY.

About the Job: The Financial Controller, Americas will lead day-to-day accounting operations for the company’s Americas business and report to the Director of Finance. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for financial close, accounting operations, internal controls, inventory and cost accounting, audit support and development of the accounting team.

The Controller will oversee a Senior Accountant, Staff Accountant and Accounts Payable team while partnering closely with finance, operations and plant leadership. The company is also in the early stages of a multi-year ERP transition from Microsoft Dynamics NAV to Business Central, and this person will play an important role in that implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual close activities and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Oversee general ledger accounting, reconciliations, accruals, fixed assets, inventory and intercompany activity.
• Manage and develop the accounting and Accounts Payable teams.
• Partner with manufacturing leadership on inventory, cost accounting, cycle counts and operational accounting issues.
• Strengthen internal controls and identify opportunities to improve and automate accounting processes.
• Support the company’s ERP implementation and related systems improvements.
• Coordinate audit requirements and maintain appropriate accounting documentation and controls.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including prior leadership or supervisory responsibility.
• Manufacturing accounting experience with exposure to inventory and cost accounting.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, month-end close and internal controls.
• Experience working within a complex, high-volume accounting environment.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage deadlines, improve processes and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• CPA/MBA and ERP implementation experience are a plus.

Compensation: $125,000 - $130,000 base salary plus bonus

Job Status: Direct Hire. Hybrid in Buffalo after initial training period.
