About the Opportunity
Our client is a global leader in precision factory automation, headquartered in Cambridge, Ontario, with operations spanning North America and Europe. With over 25 years in the industry, they design and deliver engineered automation systems for some of the world's most demanding manufacturing sectors — from life sciences and electric vehicles to aerospace and defence.
This is a 2-month contract AR role stepping into an active, well-defined function. The incoming consultant will be trained by the current SFA and take ownership of day-to-day billing, cash application, collections, and tax remittances across multiple jurisdictions. Volume is manageable — approximately 60–100 invoices per month — and the systems are in place. This is a role for someone who can get up to speed quickly, work independently, and keep the AR cycle moving without disruption.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and manage approximately 60–100 invoices per month from billing through to cash application
- Perform cash application and maintain accuracy across Sage 50 Quantum and a custom internal database
- Produce and maintain aging schedules and generate overdue reports on a regular cadence
- Execute collections activity via email and phone, following up with both internal AP teams and external customers
- Escalate outstanding accounts to Project Managers when required
- Prepare and file QST, HST, Manitoba, and BC Sales Tax returns
- Process credit card payments as assigned
What You Bring
- Hands-on experience in accounts receivable, including billing, cash application, and collections
- Familiarity with multi-jurisdiction Canadian sales tax remittances (QST, HST, provincial sales tax)
- Experience working in Sage 50 Quantum or similar accounting systems
- Comfortable producing and interpreting AR aging reports
- Able to manage follow-up with customers and internal stakeholders professionally and persistently
- Available to work on-site five days per week in Cambridge, ON
Nice to Have
- Experience in a manufacturing or project-based environment
- Exposure to custom or ERP-adjacent databases alongside standard accounting software
