The Accounts Receivable Specialist ensures that all services documents provided are complete and correct prior to billing. Will collaborate with local administrative staff to guarantee services meet billing requirements. Responsible for reviewing denied claims, making appropriate corrections and rebilling the appropriate payers for services. The Account Receivable Specialist is a positive team player that promotes a culture of inclusion and participation.
Required Education and Experience
- High School Degree
- One year experience with accounts receivable in healthcare environment
- Knowledgeable of Excel and Word
- Valid driver’s license, proof of current auto insurance and reliable operating transportation
Essential Functions

Compliance
- Ensure payment processing of services are accurate as related to regulations and contracts
- Act as a resource providing guidance for billing policy and procedures
- Research all denials and partial payments and follow-up with appropriate entity until claim is resolved
- Correct and reprocess rejected/denied claims
- Attend Payor meetings and trainings as necessary
- Report noncompliance issues to Accounts Receivable Manager
- Consult with manager on possible trends or compliance issues
- Correspond with support staff regarding client Payor information as necessary
- Draft and submit appeals to Payors as necessary
