Accounts Payable Specialist

Essential Functions:
- Provide excellent customer service to our team members, customers and vendors.
- Performs routine accounting activities such as account reconciliation, preparation of various accounting reports and accounts payable functions.
- Review invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
- Process vendor invoices; matching invoices and entering into computer system.
- Collaborate seamlessly with vendors, customers, the sales and accounting teams and management.
- Assist with other projects and other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned.
Work Environment: This position will work inside at an office.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, 40 hours/week, Monday through Friday.
Travel: Local, to the bank and post office as needed.
Required Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED
- 3+ years of Accounts Payable and/or General Ledger experience
- Thorough knowledge of applicable accounts payable, and general ledger systems and procedures, financial chart of accounts and corporate procedures
- Strong problem solving skills, thorough accounting principles knowledge, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi-tasking skills
- Must have a strong work ethic, be highly-organized, and a self-starter
- Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable
- Proficient in Excel and Word
- Possess strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
