Accounting Specialist (Financial Operations & Reporting | Manufacturing)

We're looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist who understands that accurate financial data is the foundation of good business decisions.

This role is more than processing transactions and maintaining records—it's about ensuring financial information is accurate, timely, and reliable while supporting compliance, reporting requirements, and overall business operations. You'll play an important role in maintaining the integrity of financial data, supporting month-end activities, and helping ensure the organization meets its financial and regulatory obligations.

What You'll Do

• Maintain accurate accounting records by preparing, reviewing, and updating financial data and supporting documentation
• Verify transaction accuracy and ensure proper classification within accounting and financial systems
• Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to ensure financial records are complete and accurate
• Research variances, gather supporting documentation, and resolve routine accounting issues while escalating complex concerns when appropriate
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes by preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Prepare recurring financial, operational, and compliance reports according to established deadlines and reporting requirements
• Collect, verify, and analyze data from multiple sources to support accurate reporting and decision-making
• Prepare and submit required government, regulatory, and Census reports in accordance with established guidelines
• Support internal and external audits by maintaining organized records and providing requested documentation
• Follow established accounting procedures, internal controls, and documentation standards to ensure compliance and data integrity
• Collaborate with internal departments to resolve data issues and support accurate financial reporting

What We're Looking For

• Associate's degree in Accounting or equivalent combination of education and applicable experience required
• Previous accounting experience preferred; manufacturing industry experience is a plus
• Knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting requirements, and applicable regulations
• Experience with ERP systems; SAP experience preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, and strong overall computer proficiency
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and consistently meet deadlines
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization
