Accounting Specialist

Job Description:

• The Accounting Specialist (Contractor) will support the Accounting & Controllership team by performing a variety of general accounting activities to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant financial information.
• This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and solid foundational accounting skills.
• The contractor will work closely with the accounting team to maintain financial records, support month ‐ end close, and assist with day ‐ to ‐ day operational accounting tasks.

• Prepare and post journal entries related to revenue adjustments, accruals, reclasses, and corrections.
• Perform account reconciliations for revenue accounts, AR subledger, clearing accounts, and unapplied cash as needed.
• Research variances and ensure all reconciling items are resolved in a timely manner.
• Create, review, and process invoicing documents, credit memo requests, and adjustments in SAP (or applicable ERP system).
• Support month ‐ end close processes by compiling data, preparing schedules, and ensuring all transactions are posted within deadlines.
• Assist in maintaining internal controls and ensuring adherence to SOX or compliance requirements.

• Support process improvements to streamline workflows and improve accuracy.
• Participate in cross ‐ functional projects or system enhancements as required.

• 2-4+ years of experience in general accounting, accounts receivable, or accounts payable (contractor or corporate environment).
• Working knowledge of SAP or other large ERP systems (SAP experience strongly preferred).
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles (debits, credits, accruals, and reconciliations).
• High level of accuracy, accountability, and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and time ‐ management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Proficient in Excel and general reporting tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
