Key Responsibilities

Barron Industries, a growing leader in investment casting and precision machining for the aerospace and defense industries, is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our team in Oxford, MI. This position offers the opportunity to work across accounting, customer service, and daily business operations. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where accuracy, communication, and teamwork are essential.

• ·     Manage daily accounts payable activities, including entering vendor invoices, matching invoices to purchase orders, maintaining documentation, and processing approved payment. 
• Communicate with vendors regarding payment questions, reconcile vendor statements, and research and resolve discrepancies.
• Manage accounts receivable activities, including preparing and submitting customer invoices, monitoring payment status, and accurately recording and depositing customer payments.
• Enter new customer jobs into the Plex ERP system, reviewing contracts and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Coordinate customer shipments with customers, shipping personnel, and freight carriers, ensuring shipments are arranged accurately and proper proof-of-shipment documentation is maintained.
• Maintain customer order and billing spreadsheets, ensuring information is accurate, organized, and up to date.
• Prepare monthly accounts payable and accounts receivable reconciliations.
• Assist with monthly and year-end accounting activities, including physical inventory counts and other closeout processes.
• Support special accounting projects and other administrative duties as needed.
• Work collaboratively with team members across the organization to help ensure accurate, timely, and efficient financial and customer processes.
• Support special projects and other office duties as needed in a busy small business environment.

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, or a related accounting role; manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience working with customers and vendors in a professional business environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Experience working with an ERP system; Plex experience is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and stay organized in a busy environment.
• A team-oriented attitude with the ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
